The drive from Nelson to Lethbridge is a beautiful 450 km journey through the Southern Interior of BC and into the Alberta prairies. The most direct route follows Highway 3A and Highway 3, also known as the Crowsnest Highway. This route takes you through the stunning Kootenay Pass, the highest mountain pass in the Canadian highway system, and past the historic mining towns of the Crowsnest Pass. Expect dramatic changes in landscape as you transition from the rugged mountains to the open plains of Southern Alberta.
