The journey from Nelson to Calgary covers approximately 650 kilometers and takes about 7.5 hours of driving time. You will head south to Salmo, then east on Highway 3 (Crowsnest Highway) through the Kootenay Pass, and eventually join the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) near Banff. This route crosses the Continental Divide and offers stunning views of the Canadian Rockies. It is a major transit corridor between the BC interior and Alberta.
