Shawnigan Lake is a peaceful community located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. To reach it from Vancouver, take the BC Ferries service from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. From there, drive north on Highway 17 and then Highway 1 over the Malahat. The final stretch involves turning off onto Shawnigan Lake Road. It is a popular summer destination for swimming and water sports.
