Dawson Creek is the famous 'Mile 0' of the Alaska Highway. To reach it from Mayne Island, you must first ferry to the mainland and then travel north through the interior of British Columbia. The drive is over 1,300 km and takes you through Prince George and the Peace River region. Alternatively, you can fly into the Dawson Creek Airport via connecting flights from Vancouver. This is a journey into the heart of Canada's northern frontier.
